A sequel to the Evil Within is arriving later this year, Bethesda confirmed with a debut trailer at their E3 conference.
The quietly creepy trailer only has CGI footage, but shows the protagonist is searching for his daughter. As the official site reads:
"Set in Union, a crumbling city built using Lily’s mind as the Core, The Evil Within 2 presents a mix of closed off, claustrophobic environments that are reminiscent of the first game, and new, less linear areas that will give you the opportunity to explore at your own pace. You’ll be able to wander freely and poke through all the dark corners of the world at your leisure, but this is still a survival horror game, and ammo and resources will be scarce."
Horror veteran, Shinji Mikami, is attached to the project. Mikami is known for pioneering the Resident Evil series, along with ones of its most revered entries, Resident Evil 4. He also directed Vanquish for Platinum Games.
The Evil Within 2 will launch for PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 13 this year (and yes, that is a Friday).
