Uncharted 4 is game that I was looking forward to for a long time, but have only just got around to playing it now. The game is amazing, albeit a bit grittier than previous iterations.
The story continues after Uncharted 3, where Drake has yet again dragged back into his old lifestyle, but this time Sam, Nate's long lost brother, returns with his life in danger, and they need to seek out a long lost treasure in order to save him. The story is well thought out, and the pacing is great, with no real lulls in gameply. Elena also makes a return, and there are some very cool moments with her that I won't spoil here.
There are a few great plot twists, as there have been in past games as well. Nothing I can really mention without giving too much away, but some of them you see coming, others you don't.
The game play is of course great, just don't expect non-stop action, as there are a few puzzles to wrap your membranes around. A grappling hook is introduced, to add some variety to platforming elements, and it works really well, as it can be used to attack an enemy or escape a dangerous situation. The banter between the characters is great too, as it has been throughout the series. On the harder difficulties, there are certainly some pretty unfair sectinos, but nothing that deters from the overall experience.
Climbing is more versatile and smoother than ever before. Nate can now slide down steep areas, jumo and grab a wall or throw the grappling hook before falling to your death to swing to an out-of-reach area.
The graphics are the pinnale of the series, of course, taking full advantage of every ounce of processing power the PS4 has to offer. Some areas look very good, where others look downright amazing. The character movement, design and art direction are top level, as to be expected from Naughty Dog.
The multiplayer aspect was quite enjoyable too, Iand I ended up sinking a bit of time into it (Mainly for trophies :) ). I never had an issue finding a game, even this far after release. There are a variety of modes to keep things fresh, and there are also various upgrades you can purchase with money you gain from kills, like placing a sniper for instance!
All in all this is a great all around package, with an extremely satisfying single player campaign bookended by two very entertaining Multiplayer modes, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone.
